Kenn
Diko, M.S.W., A.C.S. W., L.C.S.W., began his human services
career in 1971 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Byron Health Center, a long-term
geriatric facility. He was also employed
for several years at Parkview Memorial Hospital (adult inpatient psychiatry) as
a Psychiatric Technician.
Kenn
earned undergraduate degrees from Purdue University in both Mental Health
Technology (A.A.S.) and Psychology (B.A.) and completed his graduate education
in Social Work (M.S.W.) at Indiana University. He has been approved for independent practice
by the National Association of Social Workers (A.C.S.W.) and is certified by
the State of Indiana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.). He
participated in post-graduate training through the University of Wisconsin and
the Brief Family Therapy Center (Milwaukee) under the supervision of Insoo Berg and Steve de Shazer,
internationally recognized co-creators of the counseling model known as
Solution Focused Brief Psychotherapy.
Since 1985, Kenn has been employed professionally as a psychotherapist,
supervisor, and clinical director in several inpatient and outpatient
psychiatric settings and child welfare facilities. He was a founding member of
Mercury Center, a private group practice specializing in Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and related behavioral, learning, and emotional
difficulties for both children and adults.
For more than 10 years, Kenn served as Mental Health Consultant for the Urban
League of Madison County Head Start (Anderson). He has presented numerous
workshops and seminars throughout Indiana for mental health and school
professionals, teachers, and parents groups. In addition to his private
practice at Raj Clinics where he is Director of Psychotherapy Services, Kenn has also provided mental health consultation for Texas
Migrant Council Head Start. The father
of five children, he teaches at Ivy Tech Community College in the Schools of
Public and Social Services and Social Sciences and Humanities.
